Would've been helpful had I seen it earlier haha.Īnd, yes, this is part of the process in troubleshooting. Just discovered the tiny little "Quote Post" button. I think if a machine works when patched to current, you can rule out WU/should try patching any systems that don't work and see if that resolves. We are all scratching our heads at this point.Ĭan you break a working one by patching it to current? If so you can just roll back updates to see which caused it, assuming it is a WU issue.

We have had several fresh sets of eyes, ears and ideas introduced into this equation. We are starting to wonder if a windows update may be to blame.

Honestly, this issue has hit us starting yesterday. These have all been imaged using SCCM with either our global Windows 7 or 10 images. If we direct the drivers to the unpackaged folder, those work fine. So far it is strictly just the video displays that we are having issues. The mechanical docking station capable units in our environment will need these drivers functioning due to impending/ongoing upgrade efforts (D6000 docks only). All installation attempts were made with privileged accounts or as an administrator. Has anyone had issues recently with DisplayLink drivers with Dells? Other Manufacturers? Other OS?Īll attempts were made prior to connecting the hardware. OR, It will allow you to begin the installation, but later aborts on it's own and gives some generic "Try again later" style message. The installer completes the system check (checks good) and then hitting "Install" immediately brings up a prompt stating "Are you sure you want to cancel the setup.". Anywho, on Windows 7 and 10 we attempt to install the drivers and one of two things happens almost every time.

We have the following machines currently in our environment that will use these docks at some point:Į5450, E5440, E7280, E7470, E7480, 3510, 3520, and newer models (the model names escape me).

But, we recently ran into some random issues when attempting to install the package. The docks use the DisplayLink driver package. My company recently started rolling out Dell D6000 series docks.
